In 2023, HHRD provided 1,696 wheelchairs in Afghanistan, Bangladesh (including Rohingya refugees and native Bangladeshis) Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Nepal, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Congo, and Pakistan. To meet the individual needs of our beneficiaries, HHRD provides three different wheelchair solutions: manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs and tricycle wheelchairs. The bulk of our donations consist of manual wheelchairs, but sometimes people with multiple disabilities need electric chairs to achieve self- sufficiency. Tricycle wheelchairs are provided on occasion when the terrain is difficult for a manual wheelchair to navigate.
