The marginalization of disabled children persists as a profound societal issue, reflecting systemic barriers and attitudes that hinder their full inclusion and participation. Poverty, ignorance, prejudice, and lack of services & support further exacerbates their dilemma. Addressing this requires concerted efforts across various fronts. Ahmad began showing signs of Autism at 2 ½ years old. His mother struggled to find support, as the nearest affordable rehabilitation option was nearly 62 miles away. Discovering HHRD’s CWDP in Malindi, she enrolled Ahmad in the program. Over the past eight months, he has received critical services such as sensory integration therapy, dietary support, and tailored home programs. As a result, Ahmad now feeds himself independently, responds to his name, and interacts with peers. The family is deeply grateful to HHRD donors for their invaluable support.
