HHRD teams, with the assistance of vetted partner NGOs, distributed hundreds of relief packages to families in need. Goods, sourced from local suppliers, were distributed in Ubay, Bohol in collaboration with the Municipal Government of Ubay, led by Mayor Costan Reyes. Super Typhoon Odette (Rai) slammed into the Philippines on December 16th, 2021, leaving in its path death and destruction. This storm has affected nearly 4 million people across 400 cities.
Helping Hand USA has launched an emergency campaign called Philippines Relief to provide essentials to families who have lost everything. Thousands of temporary shelters have been scattered across the region to provide safety from unsanitary conditions and mental trauma. HHRD has been working in the region providing not only emergency relief during major earthquakes, tsunamis, and typhoons but also long-term assistance through programs such as Orphan Support, Qurbani and Ramadan Food Packages, Skills Development and Livelihood and much more.
