East Africa is facing the worst drought in 40 years due to 4 years of insufficient rainfall. 20 million are at risk of starvation, mostly women and children. A chronic lack of water has created a food shortage, a rise in infections and preventable diseases, and the death of millions of livestock—the livelihood and major food source for people in this region.

As a registered INGO, HHRD conducts several developmental programs and projects in Kenya, Somalia, Uganda and Tanzania such as the ‘School of Excellence’ in Somalia, Healthcare and Nutrition, Water for Life (water accessibility), WASH (Water and Sanitation Hygiene), Orphan Support, Children with Disabilities, Skills Development and Livelihood, Youth Empowerment and seasonal programs.
