The alarming drought situation in Mandera County, Kenya, has created dangerous food shortages because of depleted water sources and dried up pastures since February 2021. An estimated 2.1 million face starvation across half the country due to the reduced crop production caused by the drought and the socio-economic impact of COVID-19. With your support, HHRD can provide relief needed to ensure families have nutritious food and clean water to prevent health risks.
HHRD is registered as an International NGO (INGO) with offices and team members in Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, and Tanzania. We are conducting several developmental programs and projects, including Water and Sanitation Hygiene (WASH), Healthcare and Nutrition, Orphan Support, Skills Development and Livelihood, and Seasonal programs. The people throughout the African continent need our help.
Hafsa, a Henna Art graduate from our Skills Development Center in Nairobi, pursued this course because she always had a passion for the art. There are so many distinctive combinations of patterns, shading, symmetry that must be mastered and applied to create the designs. Hafsa said she has been doing decorations for clients at weddings, family events and on requests. The initial income has provided a great amount of help for her and her family.
